Why does this page ask for whole months?
Because the public ICICI RD rates page is written in month bands such as up to 6 months, above 6 up to 9 months, and above 9 up to 15 months. The calculator therefore follows those month buckets directly.
What happens if a bank changes the RD rate after I open the account?
The account keeps the opening rate for its own booked tenure. This page uses the booking date to choose the dated rule version it knows about instead of pretending today's card rate applied forever.
Does this include late-instalment penalties?
