Why do you ask for employer EPF and employer EPS separately?

Because the passbook shows both, and only one earns this interest. The employer EPS share buys pension and never enters the EPF interest base. The employer EPF share does. Adding them together would overstate the balance that actually earned interest.

Why does March earn no interest in the same year?

Accepted Answer

Because paragraph 60 starts a credit’s interest from the first day of the month after the month of credit. April’s EPF credit therefore earns from 1 May to 31 March, which is eleven months. March’s credit starts from 1 April of the next year, so it earns nothing in the year now being checked.

Question 3

My contributions changed in the middle of the year. Can I still use this?

Yes, but use the month-by-month rows. The same-month figure mode is only for a year where the employee EPF, employer EPF and employer EPS figures were identical in every month from April to March. If even one month differs, or one month is missing, the flat mode is no longer enough to judge the credit honestly.

Why do you report the rate and the average balance their credit implies?

Accepted Answer

Because that tells you what assumption to argue about. A shortfall by itself is only a subtraction. An implied rate says the wrong rate may have been applied. An implied average balance says the running balance they credited does not match the passbook you are looking at. That is the useful disagreement.

Why is only FY 2025-26 offered?

Accepted Answer

Because this page checks a posted credit, not a projection, and a posted credit needs a sourced and notified annual rate. FY 2025-26 is the latest year here whose EPF interest rate has both been announced and notified. A later year is not shown until that becomes true.
