Look up the exact official APY contribution by joining age, pension slab, and payment frequency. Reverse lookup the pension from a real APY debit too.

Why does this page not ask for an interest rate?

Because APY does not work that way for the subscriber. PFRDA publishes the prescribed contribution chart directly. A page that asks for return assumptions is estimating a scheme that already has an official answer.

Does the joining age change later?

No. The row is fixed by your completed age on the joining date and stays fixed for the whole term. If you join at 29 years and 11 months you still pay from the age-29 row until age 60.

What does my spouse get?

After the subscriber dies, the spouse gets the same guaranteed pension for life. After both the subscriber and the spouse have died, the nominee gets the return of corpus for that pension slab. The nominee does not get the corpus while the spouse pension is still running.

Can an income-tax payer join APY now?

No. A 10 August 2022 notification inserted a join bar from 1 October 2022 for any citizen who is or has been an income-tax payer. Older accounts can continue, but a new joiner on or after that date is not eligible.

Why is my bank debit not one of the amounts I typed?

APY has only five pension slabs and exact chart figures for each age and frequency. If a debit amount does not match one of those figures for your joining age, it is not an APY chart amount for that frequency.

Does the corpus depend on how old I joined?

No. The official table prints one corpus amount for each pension slab: ₹1.7 lakh, ₹3.4 lakh, ₹5.1 lakh, ₹6.8 lakh, and ₹8.5 lakh. The contribution depends on age. The return-of-corpus amount depends on the pension slab only.
