How does this handle leap years?
Correctly, because it counts real calendar days rather than assuming 365 in a year. From 29 February 2000 to 29 February 2024 is exactly 24 years and 8,766 days, six of which are leap days.
When does a person born on 29 February have a birthday?
On 28 February in years that have no 29th. This calculator follows that convention, so someone born on 29 February 2000 turns one on 28 February 2001.
Why does the day count look odd across a short month?
Because a calendar month is not a fixed length. From 31 January to 1 March is one month and one day, because the anniversary lands on 28 or 29 February and 1 March is the day after. Nothing is wrong.
Can I check my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the second date to anything you like. This is useful for job applications, exam forms, and pension paperwork, all of which fix an age on a specific cut-off date.
What age do Indian forms usually ask for?
Completed years as on a stated date, which is the first number this calculator shows. If you are 33 years and 9 months, every form wants 33. Never round up.
How is the birthday countdown worked out?
It finds the next time your birth day and month arrive on or after the chosen date. On your birthday itself, the countdown shows the full year ahead rather than zero.
